Summer 2026

💜 Project Overview

This project was developed independently as part of a university digital marketing course. Inspired by Live Nation Entertainment, I designed a three-email presale marketing campaign that demonstrates my ability to combine customer journey strategy, email marketing, AI-assisted content development, and authentic fan storytelling. Rather than creating a generic promotional campaign, I approached the project through the perspective of a lifelong concert fan. I combined marketing strategy with my own concert experiences to create messaging that felt authentic, emotional, and audience-centered. This project demonstrates how effective marketing becomes stronger when supported by genuine fan insight and lived experience.

🎯 The Challenge

  • Increase presale ticket purchases
  • Strengthen emotional connections with fans
  • Encourage earlier purchasing decisions
  • Demonstrate thoughtful use of AI in marketing
  • Balance campaign strategy with authentic storytelling

💡 My Strategy

Instead of focusing only on urgency or limited-time offers, I wanted the campaign to remind fans why they attend concerts in the first place. Fans aren't simply purchasing admission. They're investing in memories. They're supporting artists. They're creating experiences they'll remember for years. One experience that inspired this campaign happened during the 2019 Millennium Tour, when Omarion performed his then-unreleased song "Elevation." Watching that performance with my son reminded me how one unforgettable live moment can deepen a fan's appreciation for an artist and create excitement that continues long after the concert ends. That experience became the emotional foundation of this campaign.

📨 Campaign Overview & Emails 1–3

The campaign follows a three-stage customer journey: Anticipation → Emotional Connection → Action

📧 Email One: Every Epic Concert Begins With One Decision.

Objective: Build anticipation before the presale begins.
Call to Action: Get Presale Access

📧 Email Two: The Best Memories Are Lived in the Moment.

Objective: Strengthen the emotional connection between fans and live entertainment. Inspired by my experience attending the 2019 Millennium Tour, this email demonstrates how concerts become lifelong memories rather than one-night events.
Call to Action: Reserve My Seat

📧 Email Three: Years From Now, They'll Still Be Talking About This Night.

Objective: Create urgency before presale access ends.
Call to Action: Secure My Tickets

🤖 AI + Human Collaboration

  • Campaign brainstorming
  • Subject line development
  • Campaign organization
  • Customer journey planning
  • Campaign objectives
  • Initial copy concepts

Many early suggestions sounded generic. I refined those ideas by incorporating my own concert experiences, fan perspective, and understanding of entertainment marketing to create a campaign that felt authentic rather than automated. This project demonstrates how AI becomes most valuable when paired with strategic thinking and genuine human experience.

💭 What I Learned

This project reinforced something I've believed for years. The best entertainment marketing is created by people who understand both the business and the fan. Technology can improve efficiency and organization, but it cannot replace lived experience, emotional connection, or authentic storytelling. My education has strengthened my understanding of campaign strategy, customer journeys, audience segmentation, and marketing objectives. My experiences as a concert fan help me understand how those strategies make people feel. That combination has become one of my greatest strengths as I continue preparing for a career in sports and entertainment marketing.
