My Journey
Every experience, challenge, and opportunity has shaped the professional I am becoming. This is the story of how a lifelong passion for entertainment grew into a purpose-driven career journey.
From Inspiration to Purpose
Every journey begins with a moment that changes everything. For me, that moment happened when I was around eight years old while watching Michael Jackson perform "Billie Jean" during Motown 25.
It wasn't only the moonwalk that inspired me. It was the emotion of the performance, the storytelling, the choreography, the music, and the way one artist could captivate an audience. Watching Michael Jackson perform showed me that entertainment has the power to bring people together and create moments that last a lifetime. From that moment forward, I knew I wanted to be part of the entertainment industry.
Growing Up Inspired
As I grew older, my passion for entertainment continued to grow through music, dance, and films that celebrated creativity, storytelling, and unforgettable performances.
Some of the films that inspired me most include: Moonwalker, Purple Rain, The Temptations, The Five Heartbeats, Dirty Dancing, Breakin', Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo. As I got older, my interests expanded to films that blended music, dance, and performance in new ways, including: You Got Served, Stomp the Yard. Each of these films strengthened my appreciation for performance, choreography, music, storytelling, and the incredible work that happens behind the scenes to create unforgettable experiences. Entertainment became more than something I enjoyed watching—it became the career I wanted to pursue.
Turning Passion into Purpose
That passion eventually led me to California State University, San Bernardino, where I am pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Administration with a Sports & Entertainment Marketing Concentration.
My education has strengthened my understanding of market research, branding, digital media strategies, audience engagement, and the many moving parts that make the sports and entertainment industry successful.
Creating My Own Opportunities
Rather than waiting until graduation to gain experience, I chose to create opportunities for myself. That decision led me to found Tra'Lia Ramsey Media LLC, where I combine storytelling, branding, media, and entertainment into one creative platform.
I also launched the Straight From the Heart Podcast, where I developed the concept, created a complete 28-week editorial calendar, recorded every episode using an iPhone, promoted content across multiple social media platforms, and successfully completed Season One. This project allowed me to experience the complete lifecycle of content production and digital marketing.
My journey has also included supporting actor Treychon Carter through artist development and media coordination, along with serving as an unpaid Marketing & Promotions Intern with Omarion Worldwide's O'Riginals Street Team. Each opportunity has strengthened my confidence, expanded my industry knowledge, and reinforced my commitment to building a career in sports and entertainment.
My Purpose
I believe entertainment has the power to inspire, connect, and bring people together. Whether I'm supporting an artist, producing content, or developing a marketing campaign, my goal is always the same: To create meaningful experiences that leave a lasting impact on diverse audiences.
I want to help tell stories that matter, build authentic connections, and contribute to projects that celebrate creativity, culture, and community excellence.
Looking Ahead
As I continue growing professionally, I remain committed to learning, creating, and embracing opportunities that challenge me to become a better leader, marketer, and storyteller. My journey is still being written, and I look forward to contributing to the sports and entertainment industry while creating experiences that inspire and connect.
